Voltmeter & Ammeter connections
A voltmeter is a device used to measure the voltage or potential difference between two points in an electric circuit. Connect voltmeter in parallel, across the two points between which the voltage is to be measured. This ensures that the voltmeter measures the potential difference without altering the circuit's behavior significantly. Connecting a voltmeter incorrectly in series with a circuit would result in a very low resistance path, potentially causing a short circuit and damage to the voltmeter and the circuit. An ammeter is a device used to measure the electric current flowing through a circuit. It is typically connected in series with the circuit, allowing it to measure the current passing through the entire circuit. Connecting an ammeter incorrectly in parallel would provide a low-resistance path for current, causing inaccurate measurements and potentially damaging the ammeter and the circuit.
